As a rugby lover, the ultimate was to watch David Duckham flummox defences with his devastating sidestep. The rush of excitement that produced gave me a feeling of what heaven must be like. I was lucky enough to see him in the flesh several times on the 1971 Lions tour of NZ. RIP, David, thanks for the memories.

He was one the assholes who went to South Africa during apartheid. They said we shouldn’t mix politics and sport, forgetting of course that it was the racist regime there that did exactly that.
Carling could be an utter cock.Understand the Celtic nations dislike of him. What a player tho flattened back rowers for fun.Strong and intelligent. His personality got in the way of his obvious playing ability 🤷🏼♂️
With Rugger being a middle class sport here in the UK, hatred is probably too strong certainly to describe how the English feel about their opposition. But if it we were to try and list them from most disliked to least disliked I'd have a guess at this. France, Wales, Australia, South Africa, Scotland, Ireland. Others like NZ are not disliked, they are respected imo. I was at the most recent England v Ireland game @ Twickenham. Everyone mixed before the game. We even sang both anthems. Everyone was mixed in together during the game. Everyone had a drink and mixed after the game. No trouble whatsoever just a brilliant day out for everyone. Now that's how Rugby should be. Generally it's similar in Dublin, Cardiff or Edinburgh although sadly there can be the odd dickhead looking for trouble, which I suppose you could find anywhere. I know for a fact though that the feelings towards the English, certainly from the Welsh and Scottish perspective are not all warm and fuzzy! lol
Willie John and Fergus Slattery visited my school De La Salle College, East London, South Africa in 1974, after clinching the series in Port Elizabeth...great memories.
Love rugby humour. As a 19yo I remember catching the train just outside bath to go to Cardiff.it was the year Evans skinned a careless Underwood. As I got on the train in my Welsh jersey 4 middle aged (like me now) England fans said look out boys here come the court jester. Big laughs and then asked me to join them for drink and food. The English rugby food spreads beat us hands down lol. Have to say they I was looking for them as I heading home. Rugby is all about the bants and to new fans remeber the difference between bants and hatred
3 of the greatest ever to play for Ireland and anyone else for that matter, Willie John Mcbride, Fergus Slattery, and also in there the great Mick Galway
Great stuff.
Great little sketch. I remember 'iron Mike' sorting out the Aussies in '89. Did not go down well with the Aussie press!😅
One the very of the 70s British lions tour of nz
Lol, Jason Leonard legend.

What a player…the first of those big, strong and fast backrowers who at 6, 7 or 8 would get the job done….would thrive in todays game
Funny as hell story!
Who writes the transcription..? It makes no sense at all..! 😮
The big win was in 2001 , 15 v 44 if my memory serves, great story though.

MT. My all time favourite player. Leg-end.
Austin Healey, the one person that unites all other players
The Quinnell family, Welsh royalty. Class people👏
Ill never forget the sight of Teague bashing seven types of shit out of some Aussie on that Lions tour. Tremendous.
A fantastic flank forward. One of the best, a real dynamo.
These clips are great showing how rugby players never stop taking the piss out of each other
2003 Six Nations wasn't 47-12, it was 26-9.
